It appears like a D/S but it would be the first one found. Doesn't mean it Doesn't exist just might no have been found till now. The coin has other questionable marks like after the last A in America. Liberty appears faintly at 8 to 7oclock.the fg isn't right eitgerI see other questions on there too but maybe I will see what yall see and not influence anyones vision. I will say that thank yall for being the only coin forum I have come across that most topica no one makes any one else feel stupid for asking or not knowing. Condescending answers seem to be the normal response in Numismatic forums except here. Thanks again

Just a mashed up mint mark that took a ding in circulation. There is no such thing as a 1976 D/S. Over-mint marks stopped about two decades before this.

@penny, I'm glad to hear that you have found a warm reception here. Find a previously undiscovered OMM would be quite something indeed. Unfortunately it looks to me too like circulation damage is a much better explanation for this oddly-shaped mint mark and the various other aspects you mention.

OMM's stopped in 1955. I agree with PMD.

Agree with all above, post-strike circulation damage.
