I was wondering what caused the no F or no FG Kennedy half dollars ? Was it polished dies, clogged dies or another cause? Are the letters completely gone or faintly visible ?
Are they worth much? Lastly, the following images are from a 1972 D, a 1977 D and a 1983 P respectively. Are they examples of the error? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to learn.

I dont know what caused it but I see letters in the last 2 pictures I think. I know I see an F in the bottom one. I have heard coppercoins say that Polishing, die wear, and other factors can lead to them becoming mushy, faint, or missing altogether

I have a 1982 Kennedy with no FG and these are taking out by a polished die. The one you have is partially taking out but there still is a little premium for it . The ones that are totally taken are worth more.

They have to be removed from the die from over polishing or filled with grease. They are not added to the die. It is part of the master die and should be there. Premium? ebay will find you suckers for them. But extra value, I would say not. Just part of the minting process. Worth what the back side of the coin says to me.
