This thing is awesome and I'm tempted real tempted to put skin in game its natural no issues...but the grade the grade? Throw out the grade due to its rarity I suppose. Some say the holy grail of Lincoln Doubled Die reverses LOL I love this coin not knocking it but I'm scratching my head on MS-62 if this coin were not the ultra rare 801 what would you grade it?. I'm not the best at grading but would question it, like you are. To me, it looks mid to high AU. If I did buy coins, don't know if I would want this one, for what it's going to go for. That current bid of $205 will be long gone at the end of this auction. Probably upwards of $4000?

Not sure on that one, back in 2017 I had a crack at it and passed on it. The coin got one bid at $3,000.00 now there are reportedly about a dozen between BN RB and RD another one went for $1,700 in I think 2020. My gut tells me this one will break low 2000 territory plus buyers fees but I'm no magician so will wait and ponder these next days. Its registry set material and if he or she decides this is the one then done deal but if 2 registry buyers decide its the one then strap in folks its going to the moon! Looking at this coin and thinking hmm then I look at a nice original 1955 doubled die in AU and it ain't hard which one to want...BOTH!

I'll have to take your word for this one, I'm just not seeing the DDR, maybe it is my monitor, my eyes, or maybe I just need a closer picture of it here.

All outside devices have tight but very discernible doubling including the initials, strongest doubling see on United States. CopperCoins.com has some good closeups.

I'm gonna have to go through all my 1966 Lincoln Cent rolls again to check for the DDR. I didn't realize until recently 1966 had a DDR. Plus, I'm terrible about checking the reverse of my coins. Premiums are usually much lower on the reverse varieties.

CoinHI: That's the first time I've seen that list. I don't think I agree with the list in the order it is in, or even some that made the top 50. But, each to their own I guess.

How many 1966 DDR FS-801's are estimated to exist? And how many are still hiding out there? Agreed with @kurdle it might be time to check the 1966 examples again.

$1,109.00 as of 6:41 pm central time with 7 days to go. Its listings or ranking appear immaterial to advanced Lincoln Memorial die variety collectors this one is like the 1988 doubled ear its so rarely seen at auction prices hard to nail down there's one maybe 2 1966 DDR's then auction silence for 2-3 years. For me its an exciting variety and I'm no longer tempted I'm flat out in the fray now (to a certain degree LOL) this one is in the registry list and carry's some points. It appears my crystal ball prediction will be toast...I change my prediction to just under or above $3,000.00 but that could change arrrrghhhh. Love em just love em.
