This is my first attempt to upload pictures taken with my new coin microscope to the forum. I'v been coin roll hunting for about 4 months now and checking for true double dies. I'm having difficulty distinguishing between the true double dies and the other types of doubling. I believe the doubling on the 1965 quarter is Machine Doubling but I'm not sure whats going with "The In God We Trust" on the bicentennial quarter. I don't think it is a true double die but doesn't look like the Machine Doubling on the 1965. Just like some expert opinions.

I would also appreciate any tips to improve my pictures since I'm brand new at this and just bought my microscope last week. Thanks.

your images are quite nicely done.
The top one is DDD or Die Deterioration Doubling - Notice how the apparent doubling is trending towards the edge or rim.
The second one is MD - the devices (letters) have a step-like appearance to them.

also on a side note - the proper term we use is Doubled Die (past tense)

@dis, first welcome to CCF. Second, best practice is to post only one coin per thread as this help avoid confusion. In the particular case of your three pictures above, it isn't clear which of the images of IGWT is for which quarter. Please clarify and we can split your post in two. Thx.
