Good morning. This is what is called Push Doubling , witch is a sub type of Machine Doubling. Push doubling occurs when a die bounces off the surface of the coin, shifts position, and lands lightly in a different spot.

Interior features often show rounded doubling that is easily mistaken for the effects of a double strike or a doubled die.
I hope this helps.

The glare makes it a little hard to see if the feature is rounded. That does look like push doubling, possibly also visible on the date. To be push doubling, the doubled metal would have to come from Lincoln's face.

Or, it could be a design berm due to Die Deterioration. Design berms can be more rounded than push doubling. Those markings on the date might also be DDD. Given the chubbiness of IGWT and LIBERTY, this might just be a late die state.

You'd need a much closer picture of the date and the edge of Lincoln's face to know for sure.

There were no DDO entries in Variety Vista for 1962-D. But it's still a cool coin.

Agreed. This is a great example even if it is only worth face value.
