Hello all,
Happy Independence Day!
I'm seeking info on this coin. Its in beautiful shape for its age.
Is that doubling on the 959 of 1959?
Also, is it okay to ask about coin value in this forum, and if so, what is this coins value?
As always, thank you kindly.

Can not tell with these photos - can you show in in-focus close up of the date area?

Absolutely - that's all part of the education we try to offer.

Assuming this is not a desirable variety it appears to be a nice, collectable MS example. Spots on the reverse hold back the eye appeal.

NumisMedia FMV has this at $3.74 if it made MS64. NumisMedia is the high end of the retail price guide. You should find them as one of your future references.

A closeup pic of the date would help, but you might have DDD there.

Need better photos. In focus and less glare. You need to filter your light source. http://goccf.com/t/422658
As to values of coins, you need to grade it first:https://www.PCGS.com/photograde/
Then look up the prices:ckeck ebay sold values and here http://m.numismedia.com/rarecoinprices.htm

I suspect Die Deterioration doubling--would need better pics. Would be a nice album place holder until better comes along.

As stated, we need better closeup pics and more than likely it is just deterioration, common on these.

Don't forget to check the reverse, there are some nice DDR's for this year. Most can be seen with a very thick tail of the R in AMERICA and thick FG initials.
