I was able to assemble a complete set of US States Quarters
at face value, from pocket change, that had accumulated in a cookie barrel over a number of years.
That was when I visited the 'States pre covid.
If I was to visit the 'States again, I would expect that I would be able to
also assemble a complete set of
America the Beautiful Quarters,
and a complete set of
Presidential dollars in the same way.
Currently, I do exactly this sort of collecting, just as a kid would do, with Australian collector coins that are released into general circulation. Have about 250 different design types issued since 1966, covering all denominations. All collected at face value. Lots of fun, but as stated above, no real collector value above face.
As my avatar suggests, my first numismatic love is ancients, and there
is numismatic value in this part of my collection.
