Scene from inside the vault at the casino in Martin Scorsese's Casino. Lots of rolled coin.
I'm too lazy at the moment to post a photo.

In the story a boy had stolen some coins from his father and they used one of our members 7070 Dansco.

And then in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory of 1971, Charlie's grandfather gives him a coin to go purchase another chocolate bar. I thought it looked vaguely like a Peace dollar of unknown date!

Then there's the 1968 quarter used in a parking meter--Jack Reacher (2012 - Tom Cruise).

This is from an original Twilight Zone episode, "A Penny for Your Thoughts." It's about a mild-mannered man named Hector Poole (Dick York) who pays for his morning paper by tossing a quarter into the vendor's change box--and it lands on edge! This rare event gives him the power to read people's minds, which ends up causing him nothing but trouble. This episode was first aired on February 3, 1961. Look at all that delicious silver! Yum! One thing I like about this photo is that it's a time capsule of sorts--it shows that in 1961, Walkers, SLQs and Buffalo nickels were still common in circulation.

In the Russel Crowe movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World the surgeon (Paul Bettany) has to remove a portion of an injured sailor's skull. He then puts a silver coin in place to protect the brain.

The 1913 Liberty nickel was featured in an episode of the TV show Hawaii Five-O. "The $100,000 Nickel" was first broadcast on December 11, 1973. The story is about a master criminal who organizes the theft of the rare five-cent piece. The episode showed one of the real 1913 nickels along with a copy. Pictured above in the foreground is actor Victor Buono holding the nickel (most assuredly the copy!).

On the original Mission Impossible series, there was a few times when they used $500 and $1000 bills. There was one episode where they were fooling someone into believing it was the past. Then one of the IMF agents dropped a 1964 half dollar which built up a lot of suspense until he managed to pick it back up.
