I would take nss on his offer. If it's genuine your good, if it's fake you didn't pay for Authentication.

Interested in how this ends up. I personally don't have enough expertise to offer an informed opinion on authenticity.

Thanks @nss for providing that die polishing comparison - IMO that takes the tooled mintmark question off the table.

I'm also going to put this one in the obv die#4 box and think it is genuine. an 09S VDB at this grade should have been authenticated so its a little concerning why it isn't.

too much glare to see all the surfaces properly but the coin could grade as high as AU50. if you can post photos showing the surfaces better without glare to determine if it would grade straight. just me but I'm thinking there is a chance that the coin was slabbed and came back cleaned and was broken out. seen that before.

Thanks for the comparison, @nss-52. I'm also confident it's genuine. The risk in buying this and sending it for grading is that it might come back genuine details.
