My 1999 D Dime Weights 2.00g

This is my first time posting &. Is this normal ? I have a 1999 D dime . It weights 2.00 g . I believe a dime weights 2.27 g . And it sounds a lot different from a regular dime. I believe the diameter is less then 17.9 mm. I think it's around 17.0 mm ,if that makes sense. Just trying to put out as much information as a can to get the information I am looking for :) . Hopefully I took tried good pictures .. :)

Something acidic was in contact with this coin maybe the ground as stated or a type of acid that removed material enough to drop the weight.

@nic, first welcome to CCF. I'm glad you are here and these are above average pictures for a first post. You could crop them a bit more tightly in the future to let us focus on jsut the coin, but these are just fine as-is.

This dime might have been on the low end of the acceptable range when it was minted and then lost a smidge more while circulating and then being buried (as noted above). That seems to be the most likely scenario anyways.
