90% silver doesn't sound right for a 10 cent piece.
Have you tested this coin compared to a known 90 or 99% silver to confirm readings?
I use several silver test samples like .800, .900, .925, .999 and a few lesser purities.
Compare readings to a US silver coin.
Silver fineness can be expected to be from a ballpark .700 down to as low as a ballpark .500 as years went by.
I'd expect your coin to be 18.5mm, 1.33mm 2.65 grams or 2.53 grams
Nothing may be etched in stone as there was widespread variation, debasement and counterfeiting depending on where and when the pieces were minted.
I just would not expect a 10 cent piece to be 90% silver.
EDITED following morning:
I did more checking and did find some .900 ten cent coins from a few mints and provinces, but not Y-28 (Kann 230)
Some of my generalities above don't help much.
One source states 19.75mm .650 fine 2.7 grams for the 1911 minting. Kann doesn't show fineness.
In 1914 it was restruck using old dies and debased silver.
One thing that would likely suggest fineness of .900, .700, .820 or .650 would be an accurate specific gravity number.
