I have 2 1961 D Lincoln cents that have the L in Liberty close to rim or right on rim almost. Are these considered error coins? Thanks for any help

Having an 'L' touching the rim on 1960s cents is not uncommon--a result of deteriorating/aging dies.

Depends, these coins on ebay and other sites are very rare mint errors. You can get rich on them. But as ijn stated, very common in the 60s. Only worth face value.

Normal part of the design that year. Best to remove coins from 2x2 before taking pics, always.

Deteriorating/aging die? That applies to near mint also?

@EnergiaArt age of the die has nothing to do with the coin's condition. An aging die still strikes new coins.

Also, don't think I've forgotten you or the way you sold coins on ebay as "errors" after we all told you they weren't. I really thought you should have been banned for that, and I'm disappointed you weren't. We had better not see this one up for $50 later like your last con job. http://goccf.com/t/449197

marketed as a planchet error. I guess we know what we're dealing with here.
