Good afternoon! Have vouple of submissions coming up. This one is my 1963 proof set with the obvious upside down insertion. Is this a variety or vommon occurrence? Thank you!

@3388, I see that the obv of the dime is upside down with respect to the other denominations, but what does the other side look like? In other words, is your question how a coin might have been inadvertently rotated when placed in this aftermarket holder or whether the coin was struck with rotated dies?

3388bknb, this is not the original mint packaging for a 1963 proof set. It is an aftermarket holder produced by Capital Plastics.

yep, Hondo is correct, somebody compiled this 'set' possibly putting the dime in upside down or it is a 'rattler' and rotated inside the hole over time.
Put on some cotton gloves, open the case, and reset that dime..

Yes, this is a set assembled by a third party, not the US mint.
