1948 Wheat Penny Error? - Coin Community Forum

I have a 1948 Wheat penny with something noticeably wrong with the print quality on the date. Could anyone tell me if this error is worth anything? Report this Post to the Staff

Second, based on these pictures, it looks to me like the date has been mechanically damaged rather than this being a mint error. The value of common date, well-circulated wheat cents (like this one appears to be) is somewhere around 3x-5x face value.
