A zinc disk with a Proto-Rim. This is a Type II planchet as it has passed through the Upset Mill. I'm not sure why it missed the copper plating bath, but this is what lies at the heart of every Zincoln in circulation. Composition: 99.2% zinc, 0.8% copper.

That's really cool. I think I have one of these slabbed by some no name company but at this point I've been away catching bats for so long I can hardly remember coin stuff. Tonight we caught a ton of endangered bat species so it's worth it.

That's so cool! I saw a bat zooming around a streetlight last night when I was walking our dog. I went back later wanting to get a couple of pictures, but it wasn't still there. I'll keep trying to get a shot of it and I'll post an image if I do, so you can tell what kind it is.
