Given the responses, I would say very little. If you include the CRH hobbyists on the nickel thread, then War Nickels would seem to predominate the silver that people find in the wild.

I get silver coins fairly often from my friend that works at our local bank. Latest one was a '63 Quarter this past Tuesday in AU Cond.. Coolest part
is she just trades me straight-up for face value. Bank doesn't care either way.

Going.......going.......gone !

Looks like almost a forlorn hope to make the search for silvers worthwhile.
Now, CRH'ers have been much more reporting their finds in errors and varieties in base metal coins, here in the CCF

Silvers tend to be a bonus.

I haven't CRH'd in quite some time, but pick up silver in change every year or two nowadays.

I found a 1955-D Washington quarter in MS condition about a month ago. My tire pressure light went off in my truck .I stopped at a convenience store & got 8 Quarters, I was about to drop the 1st quarter in and happen to notice the edge. All silver. Looked at the date and said WOW. I wasn't even looking for silver when I found it

had to think about this a while.. I likely have pictures of all these things:

i believe the last pre-65 silver I received in change was a War Nickel a few years ago after buying a coffee at the circle k. I picked a silver dime from their parking lot, also a few years ago, but not on the same day.

a gf owed me $5 a few years ago, she repaid me with a roll of dimes. naturally, I immediately emptied the roll into my hand and examined them, discovering a silver roos in the middle of it. stood out like a beacon. so she actually paid me back with interest.

i think there is still plenty of silver to find in circulation. don't stop looking for it.

Been in a dry spell finding silver coinage while coin roll hunting. Last one was a 1942 Washington quarter, quite worn, I would say about 9 months ago.

As for receiving silver in change - never.

It seems silver has just gotten even harder to find in bankrolls. Guess more are in the know.

Here are all my finds of silver coins (including a couple I've mentioned before). Not really found in change or coin rolls, but...

I found a (really bad) 1918 Mercury dime in a Coinstar machine about a year ago.

I found a 1963 dime on the ground a few years ago.

I found a 1944-P War Nickel on the ground around the same time, appropriately during the week of Veteran's Day.

I found a 1940-D quarter on the ground on Christmas in 2018.

And several years ago I found a 1941 Mercury dime on the ground in the parking lot of a restaurant. (Well, it was a really ritzy restaurant...)

A quarter 3 weeks ago, a dime 2 weeks ago in a roll of nickels and a War Nickel. Got a Morgan from a teller about 3 months ago.
