It's me again.sorry.so I've recently looked through $4000 worth of Kennedy rolls from the bank. Throughout all the rolls together, I found this stack of coins without edging/texture. All of these coins also have the "grease" markings as well. Do these things typically happen together? Where can I find more info about this? Thanks again

@kells, worn away edge reeding are a sign of heavy mechanical wear, such as can come from use in slot machines.

The edges are worn down from being in circulation. PMD. Could have been used in slot machines at some point.

I've got 20 or 30 Kennedy half's but never thought to examine reeding. So if you have a silver or otherwise notable coin, how much does this affect value?

Agree--lots of wear, most likely the result of mechanical damage. I'm thinking 'old school' slot machines'. Went through the Reno airport many, many years ago and came across several well used halves pouring out of slot machines. Looked just like these examples.

a silver coin with worn reeding would have to be of very low mintage to be worth above its silver value
