New to the site. Started looking at coins recently and came across this penny. Not sure of the terminology. First I saw the two dots next to the 7 in 2017. Then when I used my camera to blow it up. I think there's something going on in the jacket. I see a P. Is this an error that adds value? or do these markings appear frequently? Sorry I had to crop picture to make it fit.

To CCF! They're some kind of spots on the coin. It's not an error. I am also seeing Die Deterioration Doubling on the date as well.

Agree, just inconsequential anomalies on the surface of the coin.

You need to concentrate on the design of coins for for mishaps caused during the manufacturing of the Dies in witch coins are struck from. Go to places like Error Ref https://www.error-ref.com/ and also its a good idea to sort your coins by date and mint, then go to places for immediate answers, like here to see what type of Variety they may have . http://www.varietyvista.com/index.htm

If your using an Digital Scope ,tread lightly not to get too focused on Inconsequential things like Dings, Stains and other damage that will slow you down.

the spots look like water or sneeze droplets on the coin. DDD with the date, and circulation hits on the jacket - Pareidolia

If you look hard enough you can see more than what is really there, like looking in clouds. Try to be objective when you see stuff for example; the loop does not match the mint mark, also I see a large 3 between bow tie and date but then again it could be a heart?, ect...

to the CCF and These "new" cents come this way from the mint. There is a lot of dried water spots on them. I believe it's from the solution they use as a coolant and lubricator.
