I'm going to keep them and incorporate them into my collection :)
I am lucky enough to have been given my dad's coin collection about 30 years ago (I am a couple years shy of 40), and I'm just starting to take a real interest in it after having carted it around with me over the years. I am not really interested in selling any of them (unless I come across something
really worth selling, lol). I am finding all of this stuff entirely too interesting.
I'm currently going through what all I have, trying to figure out how to organize it and identify anything that might be interesting/rare. My short term goal is find proper storage for it all. The coins from my dad are mostly in old coin albums or the little cardboard folds, but the ones pictured above were just loose in a bag and small box. I want to keep them from acquiring anymore unnecessary wear.
I also found 16 rolls of pennies that I remember putting into rolls myself back ~1992 so I've been taking a close look at those as well, lol. All in all, I'd say I've been going pretty heavily down the coin rabbit hole over the past couple of weeks.
What initially prompted me to take a closer look at all this stuff was the 1880
Morgan silver dollar in my dad's collection. I'd always just thought it was an old, kind of dirty coin. But I took a closer look and realized it's actually in really good (MS or high AU) condition and the "dirtiness" was really pretty toning that has beautiful colors depending on how the light hits it.
