Looks pretty clean to me except for that fingerprint as you have noted. I'm interested to see what folks think it will grade as.

to CCF. Pics are a little difficult to read, too much glare and too soft. Might be a proof coin but not sure. Fingerprint is a deal breaker for me. Value, not much, around $4 without the fingerprint.Sorry to burst your bubble. John1

The small fortune you mention is misunderstood by many people finding a nice looking coin.
Only the highest graded slabbed coins bring the high prices.
It is very rare for a coin to have that highest grade level put on the slab by a grading company. They do keep track. They use nothing verifiable to grade a coin with...it is all subjective. If a coin is broken out and resubmitted, even to the same company, there is no guarantee the coin will grade the same again.
Using PCGS or NGC, which are generally the companies/slabs people pay the highest prices for will cost you 150.00-200.00 by the time all is said and done.
Way too many people pad the companies' pockets misunderstanding all of the above and come away disappointed from paying 200.00 for a coin whose slab says the market will pay face value only.
ANACs is not near as expensive with no required membership fee. The market also does not pay as much for their slabs despite nothing verifiable used by any company to grade and therefore nothing verifiable for any one of them to be rated as "the best" company. No verifiable standard of accuracy means no way to gauge accuracy. And you can find just as many complaints online about any of these three companies.

Well thanks everyone for the feedback! Was still a pretty cool find being that it was on the floor of my Van lol maybe one day, I'll take it to a coin place if I happen to be in the area. Just for fun. I will definitely post back on here with an update. The fingerprint still baffles me. I tried to do a light cleaning/wipe down... and still didn't come off

Stingray87, Fingerprints are for ever unless you dip it right after you put prints on it. You would end up damaging the coin to remove the prints now. I also "cleaned up" a few words in one of your posts. I added "for fun" John1

I'm 100% sure that's a impaired proof that somehow found it's way into circulation. It's still in decent shape and a cool find but not much monetary value, in perfect condition these only sell for a couple bucks. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nk...oof&_sacat=0PR-55/58

Stingray, Quote: Did a little research and saw it could possibly be a small fortune if it was a certain one... I'm guessing you read a few ounces of the tons of misinformation out there about 1964 SMS coins. You will never find any 1964 SMS coins in the wild. They were never circulated or released to the public at all. Brilliant uncirculated 1964 and 1964 D coins are readily available. I have a bucket full, all 1964 and 1964-D, which I give away to kids at shows.
