I like collecting odd coins but I'm very amateur at this. Is this a strike thru error with maybe a nail? Also, are strike thru errors only valuable if the coin is in better condition? Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

Judging from the wear, I'd say this was done well after the original strike, so I'll say PMD.
