Hello. About a month ago, I was at a flea market, I saw that many people were looking at this piece, some said it was original, some didn't, to buy it who offered the most, the owner kindly allowed me to take some photos. According to your opinion is it a truly rare piece if it were original? What kind of stone was it?

@jose, you didn't happen to get a picture of the other side did you? That might be interesting and informative to see. The size and weight could also be useful.

With that said, I'm not sure how anyone would determine what type of stone was carved to make this piece. Hopefully someone else here does...

I don't know the weight, I think it measures 3 or 4 cm, both sides.I had also taken more photos, sorry.

Yes I think glass too due to the texture on the gorgon side, but the smoothness of the reverse. With that said, such a piece in lapis would extraordinary. I'm not sure exactly how one goes about dating glass objects, but I suspect that there is some type of spectroscopy like EDS which could help to determine trace elements.

I agree, glass paste. I previously suggested lapis only because the op seemed to rule out glass by asking what type of "stone".
