I compared my Walker finds to my almost completed Dansco album. I had seven upgrades and one filler. I picked the best of the 1945 S's for the hole in my album. I only have the three 1919's , 1920D, 1921D, 1934D, and 1946D left. I'm going to the banks and LCS this morning on my further quest. What is remarkable is I only started Half Dollars about four months ago. I have watched You Tube and it has been a good source of information. I am also working on my Benjamin's and Kennedy's. This last haul is my first coin roll finds of Walkers and my first finds of any kind of Benjamins. That's why I'm so excited and energized to pursue this further.

Congrats, jk109e4! A truly amazing find! Quote:
Let's think of how those half dollars got to the bank....
A knowledgeable person would never take rolled silver halves to a bank. So, who took them there?
A thief? A relative (also a thief)?
More than likely, an unknowing relative who either inherited or came upon the coins... seen it time and again in similar stories. Very rarely is thievery involved.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Yes, it is a once in a lifetime to find this much silver 100% of the haul. I've only seen 2 others on You tube that were better than this, but they were from an entire box and not 100%. One was from my favorite, Rob Finds Treasure about 2 years ago when he found about $6000 worth of mixed silver and the other is from "Dad's spare change" who found over 520 walkers and he had a another showing a sister box from a credit union with another 262 Walkers. Worth looking at to get your juices flowing.

Imagine actually believing these stories.

They happen. I had a half box a couple of years ago yield 8 1964 and around 170 40% Kennedys.

It has been about thirty years, but a CRH silver half dollar score funded the completion of my Franklin half dollar Dansco. I traded the found silver for "store credit" at the LCS. Big finds will continue to happen as long as people are inheriting stacks or collections and unknowingly depositing them.
