Hello my people of the coin collecting world. I have a question that I needed answers for a penny I just found. It appears to have been a recycled penny that wasn't printed. So when they did print it the reverse they went over the mint mark with it. So it has one in the front and one in the back. I don't have a clue what I am saying. Thanks for all your help.

Welcome to the forum. What you have there is just a little bit of damage on the coin. If it is a newer cent, it is most likely a spot of blistered copper plating with zinc corrosion underneath.

It would be helpful for you to show photos of the entire coin, both sides, in addition to the detail image.

That said what you have is damage of some sort. The coin did not leave the mint looking like that.

@vogo, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please list the date and mint of this cent? I'd like to add that info to your thread's title as including that information improves the CCF search functionality. Thx.

Well to help you out better, we need full coin images (front and back) and a DATE will help immensely. We don't even know if this is a copper coin or a zinc one.

If the coin is 1982 or newer then probable plate blistering or if older looks like a hit mark (maybe a tip of a philip screwdriver?).
