This was sent to ANACS for grading and came back a Proof 68 Deep Cameo,I know that others have better coins but this was one of my best,Also nobody has added to this thread for over six months so I thought I would give it a kick start. This is really the show and tell section of the forum and as I said previously you lot must have better so why not "show and tell". Regards To all. Harry

So what's the difference between regular cameo and deep cameo?

I have no information on a DCAM,the only information I have is on a deep mirror field. So I'll leave this for some one with better knowledge.

This is one of my favorite coins. 1994 proof A.S.E. Mintage of 372,168. This coin has the second lowest mintage of the silver eagles next to the 1995W.
A fine example nuggethill...thanks for sharing.
As far as the DCAM goes, I've never had that explained to me in detail but I've always thought, personally, that if I could see 3 reflections deep into the field, this was a deep cameo...to me. Iknow I'm wrong on that and I'm sure there is a definite definition though.

Unfortunately, Cameo/Deep Cameo is pretty much a purely subjective difference. The determining factor is not so much in the fields but in the devices - any coin worthy of a Cameo designation is pretty much going to have mirrored fields - but the depth of the mirrors can have a bearing on the contrast which is the key to the designation. It's the degree of frost on the devices, and the contrast between this frost and the fields, which makes the difference.
A "Cameo" coin will have areas on the devices which aren't quite as frosty white as other areas; it won't be as consistently "matte." This is tough to describe and even tougher to photograph; I'd have to present a dozen examples of each to illustrate the differences.

Yes the coin is sharp though I think the ANACS hold helps highlight it
