I have a 2001 Jefferson D DDO and DDR that I'm thinking about posting, but wanted feedback to see if I should keep it for my collection or post it for sell/auction.

How rare would you rate it?

To me, that looks like ordinary Die Deterioration Doubling. It would be very unusual to have a dual DDO plus DDR on the same coin, and there are very few true doubled dies for that era of nickels.

If you do auction it, be sure to post the link here!

Please go to error-ref.com and look up " Die Deterioration doubling." You will find their are non collectable varieties of doubling on coins. You can also look up " Machine Doubling" as well. Because if you are seeking to find doubled dies, you WILL also run into this worthless type of doubling.

When you think you may have a doubled die, you can check by finding if it is listed here:
varietyvista.com

If you do not find an EXACT (in every detail!) match, then you have one of the aforementioned worthless doublings on your coin.

I would say that Wexler's Doubled Dies site is better for beginners than Variety Vista.

If you crop your photos, it makes much the image of the coin much larger.

I have found it also helps a lot to shoot circular coins in square photo mode, so there isn't much to crop around the perimeter.
