I'm trying to put a set of Large cents together and just looking for low grade stuff because of how tremendous of a price difference a grade or two is, does anyone have any good spots and online coin dealers, or anyone that would ship. Thanks

Matthew, I suggest ebay. I had a low grade large cent whose date ended in 8, so I developed a "crazy 8s" fixation to get all of them - 1798 - 1808 - 1818 - 1828 - 1838 - 1848. All except 1798 I was able to acquire for $10 or less, with legible dates. All it takes is patience, watching auctions, and last second bids.

I humbly suggest that you attend nearby shows and coin club meetings. Low grade material often languishes in dealer stock, and they'll gladly part with same at bargain prices. I've obtained many a great c/s, a.k.a. a damaged coin, that way. Also, meeting and networking with other collectors and dealers, face-to-face, will help. Oftentimes, they may even seek you out. I've had dealers seek me out at shows and club meetings.

For low grade large cent lots, you really can't beat ebay. Tons of lots, day after day, I have a big bag that averaged well under $10 each. Very high cool factor for the dollar, most folks don't even know that cents were once giant like that.

I concur with ExoGuy along with patience. Should be easily achievable over time on a budget. I would research average prices, factoring in the key and semi-key dates shooting for a grade that would look appealing and consistant over the series. My opinion.

Do know that coins from prior to 1816 are much harder to come by.
