1952 No Mint Mark Double Die Or Am I Seeing Things?

CrankyCaptain New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 11/28/2023 10:11 pm I was going through a roll of wheat cents and found this. Is it a double die? If it is, Should I get it graded? I know its not in great shape, but I heard grading can increase the value. It's also doubled on the back with E PLURIBUS UNUM, but not as pronounced as on the front. Report this Post to the Staff

I'll hazard a guess at Die Deterioration Doubling, but an actual expert will be along shortly to identify the specific type of doubling. In the future, it's recommended that you also post pictures of the full obverse and reverse of your coin, as this will help with the diagnosis. Also, it's not necessary to specify " no mint mark", as coins minted in Philadelphia did not have mint marks until the War Nickels (1942-1945), cents from 2017 on, and all others from 1980 on.
