Yes, would appear to have lamination issues. Would love to see the coin in hand to be sure. Pretty nice.

The date looked a bit like a foreign substance on top of the coin, but when paired with the missing metal on Abe's portrait, I think you guys are right that this is a lam. Seems worthy of saving in a 2x2. Well done and welcome to CCF @duck.

O.P. Duck,
You should definitely try to rule out foreign substance on your coin, as it's pretty common to
find that. 1 approach would be to soak coin in pure 100% acetone (the kind found at hardware store).
That would dissolve most types of clear glue, Clear finishes etc.
