Received this in my email: Quote: In honor of our country's Semiquincentennial in 2026, we'll be re-issuing a selection of our greatest coins as numismatic coins and we need your help making the decision! All you need to do is complete our quick, anonymous "Best of the Mint" survey where you'll rank a series of coins. Take the survey today and be a part of a historic milestone. The survey will close December 3, 2023. Don't miss your chance!

I received the same email and did the survey. I was surprised to see some recent "reissues" on the list.

I was surprised to see the issues that have already been redone like the high relief $20 and the 2016 gold issues.

So they announced the winners of the program. https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...0gold%20coin. The five coins for 2026 are: #10148; The 1916 Winged Liberty Head dime will conform to a tenth-ounce gold coin. #10148; The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter dollar will be issued as a quarter-ounce gold coin. #10148; The 1916 Walking Liberty half dollar will be issued as a half-ounce gold coin. #10148; The 1804 Draped Bust, Class I dollar will be issued as a 1-ounce gold coin. #10148; The 1907 Saint-Gaudens, Roman Numerals (MCMVII), High Relief gold $20 double eagle is also to be released as a 1-ounce .9999 fine gold coin. Kinda a shame it was all coins done in the last 20 years (excluding the silver 1804 Draped Bust). The 1916 coins were made of gold (same weight) in 2016 and the Roman Numerals High Relief Double Eagle was released in 2009. I want the 1804 Draped Bust but kinda worried how that will look and how much it will cost....

A 10th anniversary that overshadows the 250th. I guess I am happy that I am not a gold collector.

Quote: and the Roman Numerals High Relief Double Eagle was released in 2009. The 2009 coin was an Ultra High Relief. I'd doubt they are going to go through all that again.

No gold here (with only three exceptions) so an easy pass mainly due to cost.

I have one gold coin in my collection ( inherited the 1986 Statue of Liberty 3 coin set) and one is all I'll ever have.

I have no gold coins. I have been tempted by a few modern issues, but never could justify the cost.

Yikes, all gold! Well, at least this won't hurt my wallet. I can't bring myself to pay up for gold.

I was lucky with a few of my purchases recently. My local store had the 2016 Gold Walking Liberty half dollar that he sold to me for melt ($500) and a 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle that he sold to me for Melt ($2,000). It was sitting in his vault and I mentioned that I was looking for one and he had one.

That's a pretty good deal on both of those. I had been debating the ultra high relief but liked the others more so started with them. Now I'm torn on what to do.
