I was lucky with a few of my purchases recently. My local store had the 2016 Gold Walking Liberty half dollar that he sold to me for melt ($500) and a 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle that he sold to me for Melt ($2,000). It was sitting in his vault and I mentioned that I was looking for one and he had one.
Excellent!

I have to say that I'm disappointed in this release. Gold is out of reach for most of us, and they could make these in silver and more accessible to the general public.

I hope when they announce the designs for the remainder of the circulation coins, its better. It would have been really neat if these were one offs for 2026 for circulating coins.

how will the reissued 2026 coins be differentiated from the 'original' issues? will there be something like a privy mark? or a different mint mark?

Yeah some sort of privy mark but they have not announced what it is yet.

I would think the 2026 date would be enough, assuming they do not find a way to avoid it.

I'd like a reissue of the 1915 Pan-Pacific gold $50. Preferably the octagonal issue, or both the round and octagonal.

I Too Agree,

The " Selected " coins Have a Few that were made, as Mentioned, Not Long Ago, 2016, I also received Originally From the U S Mint The Following ;

2016-W Winged Liberty Gold Dime

2016-W Standing Liberty Gold Quarter

2016-W Walking Liberty Gold Half Dollar

I am NOT going to collect the Newest Winners Either, Although the 1804, WOW....

Not sure How Much the 2016's have held, Lost or Grown in Value Since, Originally thought the 100Th Anniversary Coins would Do Well , So I made the Moves............ Best Wishes to All who Will Collect these...... EDITED , The Three Coins stated on The Bay sell around $3,000... I Did Not pay That !!

okay, I'm an idiot. I had to go back and look at those 3 gold reissues from 2016. I mistakenly thought they were dated 1916. DUH. I can't remember what my coins look like. well, that clears it up for me. I reckon the new coins will probably be dated 2026.

i'll likely pass on those 2026 things.

No you are not! Just blame it on the lack of sleep from your late night money hunt and cat feeding!

there is a lot of truth to that, but I mostly refrain from admitting to it. I really only sleep 4-6 hrs./night. like last night... I had Realty Duty today, I had to be at a property this morning by 10am, so I set an alarm for 9:30am. I got to bed before 3:30, but even though I was dog-tired (4 hrs sleep the previous night) I didn't go to sleep right away and I didn't sleep to the alarm; I started waking up way before the alarm, around 8:30, so I maybe got 4-5 hrs. last night, and I cut my night short, only being out & about for nearly an hour.

anyway, I mistakenly thought those 2016 reissues were dated 1916, so I naturally thought the 2026 reissues were 'also' going to be dated 1916 (duh) which is why I asked what I did. too bad they're going to reissue the same coins again. it doesn't excite me. the mint really soured me in 2019, 2020 & 2021. I won't carry on about that.

if they're gonna reissue the obsolete designs in gold they should make some things that more people can afford. even the prices of the current 1/10oz AGE coins are getting to be too steep; they are more than twice the price now than when I started buying them. it'd be great to see some $1, $2, $3 gold coins. I could afford those, maybe. I just hopped onto ebay to look at the prices of those 2016 gold reissues; good grief!! I'm glad I acquired those back in 2016/17, I couldn't buy them now.

Indeed. I still own no gold. I was tempted back then, but resisted. I fear I have now lost my chance at gold any time soon. Maybe I will "rent" a gold coin some day. You know, buy it, hold it, flip it — if I lose money, that was the rental price.

i'd love to see (but cringe at the potential price) a gold Flying Eagle cent or Indian Head cent, or Barber dime, or Seated Liberty dime. a gold liberty head nickel or bison nickel would be neat, too, but again I shudder at the potential cost. I truly love nearly all the old Liberty head/bust coins.

i feel that way sometimes. I'm glad I nabbed what I did in years past, but lately I've been considering 1/10oz gold from other countries. the prices are sometimes much lower than 1/10oz AGEs.
