Whew, ok, Tanner said it. =)

I would imagine that it might be hub doubling of some form, given that it appears on quite a number of coins. Although the page I looked at was first release coins, which might have been all from a limited set of working dies. I know that single squeeze doubled dies don't look like classic doubles, but this 2023 DDO really reminds me of that soft quality of old school hub doubles.

I have just been reading the Wexler files on early Kennedy halves. The files are really different from CONECA/VV, the CPG, other sources. Quite an interesting read, would love to locate some articles or write ups on that subject.

I need some clarification soon...my KHD questionable pile is reaching maximum cap... : )
I'm fearing my kids will have to figure this out...put in a tube and sold for melt...
I like these and I hate them...
