I don't like the dark halos around the devices that say "cleaned". That said, it's probably a market acceptable XF.

The coin is straight graded, but I had the same thoughts about the example being cleaned because of the dark halos around the devices. The coin does not look natural.

Old cleaning that has calmed down, I don't have a problem with a straight grade.

Frog, would you buy this one, or would you pass? I like the look, but concerned about the cleaning. The auction house has a new photographer. The same guy that created the True View photos.

Put me down for XF-45. I've see slabbed AU's in about this same condition but I can't quite get there.

weakness in strike especially reverse. obv looks 45 but I think the reverse will hold this one back.

I'm in the XF camp and agree with the Frog that this is an old, market acceptable cleaning.

EF-45+ obverse, EF-40 reverse.

Possible old cleaning and retone, but the surfaces may look more original "in hand" than what we see in these particular images.

Still, I'm loving the solid strike on the obverse. If the price is right, I'd put it in my cabinet.
