If you are asking about grade,we will need much better photos. If you are asking about authenticity, we will need much better photos. John1

At least give us some reverse photos. I don't think anyone will be able to give you much info based on the 2 photos given

If those are real you are talking over $15k based on AU/unc, if he didn't pay that much, I would question authenticity.

Both need to be checked for authenticity. I am suspicious of both of these.

I agree the 1877 looks fake.

Nothing about these looks fake to me (at this point). Design is correct and looks like obverse die #1, but really need a reverse pic on this one to tell for sure.
What about the 77 looks fake?

Just doesn't look right. Something about the Indian head looks off.

HMM, the two key coins of the series, in high grade, and raw in 2x2's. There's must be a reason why they aren't slabbed. I'd be suspicious until I could authenticate which can't be done by the pics provided.

Certainly raises some red flags. A view of the reverses will help.

They look genuine for now. 1909 I would say low to mid Unc, perhaps MS-63/64. 1877 is darker red and even in color, probably deserving of questionable color. Crazy coins if they look decent in hand.

Most likely fakes for sure, but it would be best to see both sides of each coin outside the holders

I have never seen an 1877 in that kind of condition ever. They do exist but are extremely rare. PCGS has graded only 50-60 MS example ever. So. I mean anything is possible but.

I'm skeptical without much better images.

I wish I could get more images but unfortunately these are not mine, I was just showing what he showed me, but I'm like 75% skeptical they are fake just because I know the coin shop he bought them from is not known for always buying real coins unfortunately, they get sometimes tricked on fake coins, if I'm ever putting out that kind of money they better be graded and better be from a reputable seller.
