Question No. 2.
The second coin from China, which also interested me. Especially these dragon labels look so Chinese. The seller asks for $21 for it. Would it be a good purchase? I couldn't find a similar coin on ebay.

I think more than $7 but less than $20. Maybe mid or low teens.

On ebay it helps to search also for manchoukuo. Chiao is also spelt jiao and sometimes written as 10 fen. It's a nice coin with dragons. Probably a bit overpriced for the grade.

Slerk,
When you are checking on ebay are you checking the sold values? That will give you an idea on value before you buy a coin.

The Manchukuo coins that you have posted are common. This is a slightly less common year.

Perhaps you can get raw examples at a better price. Key dates are counterfeited so be aware.

The 1935 Twenty Cent Piece might pass as a worn coin perhaps fooling a buyer not knowing what to look for.

If people are calling this coin a "jiao" (using the Pinyin for of the name), then maybe they are also calling the country "Manzhouguo", which is the Pinyin form of the name. Though I believe the officially-used name for the former country in mainland China is "Weimanzhouguo", with the prefix "Wei" meaning "so-called" or "fake", emphasizing it's puppet-state nature.

Prices are usually higher on graded coins.

Yes, I'm doing it. I learned this lesson a long time ago that you need to watch "sold" and not what is being sold. Since the sale price may differ significantly from what sellers want. But sometimes the coin you are looking for may not be on the "sold" list. I also sometimes check on the websites of some auction houses, but it also does not always help because sometimes there are so few certified coins that only 1 out of 5 evaluated ones appeared on sale.
