So this 1972 S LMC I found this week! The Fields are shiny on obverse and reverse so tough to photograph. Turned the lights low to get the pics. I think it's a impaired proof, how about you guys. Regards to all.

That squared rim suggests the coin is a proof.

Or could be an PL (proo like). All proof for that year was CAM and DCAM. I look at mine in sets and some are really very shiny and nice. Your coin it is RD, mines start to be more RB because I do not care about them if are not varieties.

I believe you has a very nice one like proof. LIBERTY stand for this. All regular S I have show square rim.

Here attached two different S business strike from same year. I put just the rim which show to be square. Up to all to decide, but I think, just think the difference for me must be the strike. One time or two?

A clear sealant of some kind "on" the coin? Polyurethane?

I took the picture from the Mint sets. I never opened the packages for Cent, Nickel and the Dime.

I found another 1972 S in another roll from the bank. This is definately not a Proof. Take a look at the pics of the maybe proof and the new coin. the one on the right is the possible proof. Pics were tough to take.

Sorry All none of the coins are proof. The proof for this year was only in DCAM and CAM.

Very shinny coins are tough to take picture without a good setup with antyglare filters on camera.

Truck: the proofs on 1972 had the planchet very nice polish and after strike you can distinct very easy the CAM.

Nice coins. Facts for those coins:

Quote:
The 1972-S Lincoln Cent was really well struck that examples up to MS66 condition are really easy to find. In Ms67 they are scarce. Anything grading higher than MS67 it is very difficult to locate an examples and only very serious Lincoln Cent collectors will probably be able to obtain one. (Ref: PCGS facts)

@John1:

As per my first answer I state maybe an PL. Due to the fact no coin has such attribution except "brilliant uncirculated" MSxx, first coin on this post I think meet this criteria.

Now , what links you give me, only one show an TV photo here posted:

The same coin on the e-bay it is from GC which now improve the quality of theirs photo. Phill the inventor of the TV photo for PCGS, now work with Ian at GC.

We have 3 big beasts on coins photo: TV PCGS, PhotoVision NCG and GC. All has some advantages and disadvantages.

On the proof vs brilliant uncirculated the main point to brink an decision it is the texture of the low flat of the coins and the finish of the high design.

By photo is hard to decide. Till now only TV photos show as the grader see the coin, and this in part is due to the one axial light. The others use 2 angle lights and different filters.
