I found a coin on acsearch with a very similar punch on the reverse, so was wondering if mine may be from the same era?

Based on the symbols that are clear, your coin should belong to Gupta & Hardaker series Vb defined as follows: "Probably the first issue of the Mauryan dynasty from c. 321 BC, this Series is tentatively divided into two subclasses, the first, chronologically earlier, is without additional Bold marks on reverse, the second has these marks." Unfortunately, the 5th symbol on the obverse isn't clear enough to assign a specific GH number. Series VI (the CNG coin) is associated with series but defined by a small flan and the arched hill (chaitya) symbol on obverse. Series Vi continues the bold reverse marks of series V.

That is very helpful Kushanshah, thanks very much for your help.
Without the G&H reference catalogue, it is, well impossible to make sense of the coins, being so many varieties.

Would I be pushing my luck for you to cast your eye on this one also?
