The dime is just damaged, quite possibly intentionally. Many, possibly all of the marks on the quarter are just nicks and scratches. Some could be very minor die chips or scratches. The thing is, coins are mass produced items, not expected to be perfect, and every coin you pick up will have minor anomalies if you look at them with that kind of magnification.

@dea best practice is to start a new thread for each new coin so I've split off the discussion of your dime from discussion of your quarter.

You would think that if it wad intentional damage that it would be smaller in Diameter and have scuff or tool marks and the thing is that this dime is the same diameter as a normal dime and as think if not thicker than a penny ether way its most definitely thicker than a normal dime, ,, oh well I guess I will put them back in the spend pile and continue the hunt for my first error coin at least the hunt is fun and thanks for the info

I think it is an early-stage Dryer Coin. (not in the dryer to long)
Or what is called a spooned coin

Yes I have read it twice and don't see my dime explained because I don't see any of the coin edge rolled back and for what I understand is that spooned id someone hammering the edge smooth and if that was the case then please tell me why the size of my dime the same size as a normal dime because with those explanations the dime would be smaller not same or bigger or thicker than normal and if it does make it bigger in any form please explain to me how this can be possible unless it fuses with another coin in some weird unexplained way LOL like the gremlin that steals your socks LOL

Early stage Dryer Coin, it didn't stay in the mechanism long enough to do much more than smooth the reeded edge.
