I found a 1991 Roosevelt dime a while back and would like some opinions. It looks like an extreme capped die error or possibly heat but I have never seen heat damage this severe without damage to the sides or reverse. It also looks like multiple faces stamped if held at different angles. Any help would be appreciated

@ant, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please post the weight of this dime? I suspect that something has removed material from the obverse and that this coin will be below mint specs.

Strange, almost looks as if it was struck through something?

Thanks to all comments. I am at a loss. I have seen many errors including heat damage and I don't believe this to be heat damage. For the year I can't find anything comparable or even close except a capped die but this looks different. Here are a couple more pictures. Sorry my camera isn't great

to the CCF Looks like it might be struck through very very late stage die cap. Almost paper thin. Wait for others to chime in.

My first thought was capped die. Please properly crop photos before posting them,we only need to see the coin not the background. John1

Thanks I had a local dealer tell me it's heat damage and not worth much but I believe he was trying to scam me. I would like to sell this coin along with a handful of others that have been verified but I do not want to get scammed.
