Can anyone tell me what's going on with this 1924 s Wheat penny? The l in liberty is way over and just looks like no other one I have found any info would be greatly appreciated

Looks as if this Lincoln has been harshly cleaned coupled with a possible weak strike (die wear) making it appear the way it does... The L in liberty is always without exception going to not change position on any date of Lincoln Cent since these devices are part of the master die, so no variation is possible. The only time where there could be a variation is if you have a case of a mis-aligned die causing devices to start falling off the rim...

So F-12 details cleaned

With the posted, pics, I'm seeing what appears to be a very well circulated '24 S cent, which may have been cleaned a good while back (and may have been struck with aging dies). This example is not unlike the few thousand wheat cents from 1909 through the late 1920s I had stored in jars over several decades.

I agree; Die Deterioration has pulled the peripheral devices toward the rim and heavy circulation has done the rest.

with above, but also worth mentioning that the word Liberty was always very close to the rim on the early cent coins.
