Pretty cool haloing effect on the right of each of the numbers in the date of this 2002 Cent. And perhaps a bit at the top of "WE TRUST". Probably from die wear/deterioration and NOT a DDO, but I still find it interesting to see how many coins are out there that are not "perfect".

Interesting, but it should not be surprising. "Perfection" requires good quality control, and good quality control costs money. They are already making a loss producing pennies, every additional stage of quality control adds to the cost and makes them lose even more money per coin.
