Might add this one to the USM shopping list. . .
https://catalog.usmint.gov/liberty-...uct-schedule

Mintage Limit is 75,000 with an 30 day order window. Does the Mint issue order quantity plus a certain percentage with this set-up ? How long will we have to wait to learn the final mintage number ?

A topic about this was started several days ago in United Kingdom forum for those who want to read the comments there. I don't like the look of Liberty, specifically the narrow eye like she's half asleep, pass.

The mint releases mintage numbers regularly, the final numbers usually aren't released until the next year I think. Below is link to the mint sales of their products. You could contact US mint customer service for more info. Sometimes any unsold coins/medals are later offered for sale. A while back I was told by a US mint rep. that returned coins/medals with scratches/dents are melted down and subtracted from the final sales.

As of right now, we don't know when The Royal Mint will issue their version which will be coins that will be available in both silver and gold.

The main part of the reverse is the same as the US mint offering just rotated 180 degrees with Royal Mint ones having more words for the lettering around the main image. Obverse will have King Charles III.

Link to the topic that I started in the UK forum is:

US Mint will be offering a gold coin as well:

I am not sure if these should be merged or left separate. I will go ahead and move this to the US NCLT forum since US Mint medals are often posted there.

Got the waiting room for the first time. Took two extra minutes, but my order is placed.

It is a pre-order. Shipment expected in April.

It usually goes without saying, but I will say it. I bought the silver medal. I do not own any gold.

I'll pass on this offering but might do the medal and coin set when it is available.

Coin and medal set?

I really wished they would have offered a UK coin and US Medal set (akin to the 2020 Mayflower set), but I do not find any evidence that is in the works.

The US ones are cheaper (excluding the bullion version), more available, less options, and better reverse. As usual, for silver, US ones are medals and UK ones are coins.

The Royal Mint has
Gold: 1/4 ounce bullion (no mintage)
1 oz bullion (no mintage)
1/4 oz proof ($945, with 700 mintage)
3 coin set (1/4 oz of UK/US Proof and 1 each of US/UK bullion. $2700 and 50 mintage)
1 oz proof ($3500 with 800 mintage)
and 1/40 oz proof for $125 limited to 1776 (lol they are more celebratory of our independence than we are)

Silver
1 oz proof ($130 limited to 12,300)
2 oz proof ($250 limited to 1500)
5 oz proof ($620 limited to 500)
1 oz bullion ($33 limited to 260,500)
3 coin set (one 1oz proof, 1 Peace dollar, and one-Two Shilling/one Florin coin. $310 limited to 250.)
1 KG PROOF ($3075 limited to 75)

I wish the US made more options as I would have liked to see this coin as a small gold proof coin like the UK one is. I just don't like looking at the reverse

Also it would have been amazing if the US made this as a bullion option as well so we can pick it up for $35!

Like jbuck, this was also my first experience with the so-called "waiting room," supposedly caused by high traffic on the website (the Liberty & Britannia items were the only new products offered today by the U.S. Mint).

Of course, both the gold coin and silver medal are still available tonight.

Coincidentally, The Royal Mint offering of its Liberty & Britannia coins also began today. There was no virtual waiting room and I had no problem ordering the silver coin, even though I had never ordered from The Royal Mint before.

Plus, I just got an email that my order from The Royal Mint is already being shipped!

Now I just need to find a holder that will display both silver pieces side by side...

I absolutely love the reverse of the silver medal, but to me the obverse is just okay. I see what they were going for and I appreciate it, but something just looks off. So I can't justify spending $89 on it. I'll save my money for the Greatest Generation commemoratives.

Thanks for The Royal Mint info. I bought that 1/40 gold coin. Stupid premium but got it for the fun of it. I'll need a microscope to read it :)
