Hey all, I know this is a terrible worn coin but I would like your opinions on which mint mark is on this US 5 cent from 1912.

I also think it's a D. A quick look on Heritage and it seems all the S mint marks are aligned with the right edge of the dot or centered, and many of the D's are aligned with the left edge as yours shows.

Likely a Denver mint coin - but why does that matter? From the small portion I can see in the photo the coin is in cull state.

Perhaps you are trying to assemble a lowball set?
