This might grade VG-8 only because of the reverse.

I agree. This could be a plate from a grading guide ... what a VG-8 Seated quarter should look like.

I agree that this is a text book VG8. Rims well defined yet LIBERTY shows 4 letters. Smooth even wear yet pleasing to the eye. VG10 would show slightly more detail among the devices.

The reverse looks like a solid VG10 to me. The obverse is weaker, almost worn down to G06 but maybe making VG8.

Good eye appeal and color make it a VG8 overall. Like many other 19th century U.S. coins, it looks like it was cleaned years ago.

Agreed with VG-8. If the obverse was a notch better, it would make VG-10.

I don't see any OBVIOUS cleaning, though.
