Hello.. I need your opinion please regarding this 1795 dollar authenticity, the seller sent these pictures to me,, but I felt the edge is thicker than normal (maybe I am wrong) I am also concern about edge lettering..

Your hunch is correct, the edge lettering is too crisp for an 18th century issue. The counterfeit was created with little detail, appearing like it is worn.

Agree, most likely a counterfeit.

There is nothing special about the coin as it is a heavily worn common variety that could be counterfeit. The only way to purchase this coin is the agree with the seller on the price. Seller sends the coin to a TPG for grading and authentication. If coin comes back questionable authenticity, seller pays grading fees. If the coin returns genuine, buyer pays grading fees. If seller is not willing to send in for grading, pass. If jacrispies analysis of the edge lettering is correct, the coin will return questionable authenticity.

Too many unknowns and I'm not a fan of that edge as the lettering appears to be too small. When you're not sure don't do anything.

The coin has a rim. The dentlls should go all the way to the edge but they don't.

The edge sure is nice and shiny for a 229 year old coin. Let me guess - it's priced just right so that you think you're getting a screaming good deal on a $2000 coin.

Glad you looked at the edge; often overlooked in discussions like this.

There are a couple of attributable common marks which shouldn't be on others as shown:

Looks like a BB-27 without the defining die scratch. I'd say it was NG just based on that.
