I am considering joining PMG or PCGS to have some bills graded on behalf of both myself and other people. I think I heard PMG is far and away the leader with PCGS being relatively new, but is there a general consensus among actual bankntoe collectors as to which they prefer?

You really can't go wrong with either company. I've heard that PCGS is returning submissions a bit faster than PMG, but, as of yet, PCGS does not have a population report or registry. Prices a very similar.

I prefer PMG (NGC) for paper money and PCGS for coins, but I agree, they are both top-notch operations.

PMG or PCGS should both be fine for your grading needs.

(BTW —- Does anybody know if Legacy is still around? Haven't seen anything about them in years.)

I know some veteran collectors that went with PCGS. They said it was more technology friendly organizing your collection on your phone.
