My dad found out I'm suddenly into coin collecting, he isn't a collector he has to many other hobbies he's into but when my grandpa past away he inherited his coins. My dad just passed them to me and I found this. Does anybody know about this coin.
Unfortunately this appears too good to be true, it is too round and too sharply struck in my eyes when compared to a genuine example. If this is a genuine example, the value of this is astronomically high, but I think this is a counterfeit example based on the look of this.
Unfortunately a cast replica. The grainy mushy details are the key pickups. It's a copy of the Noe-1 variety, the most common variety replicated. If you take it out of the holder you'll most likely see evidence of a casting seam on the edge. You can then weigh it as suggested, but no doubt this is a copy.
