The obverse is a 1 yuan Chinese junk dollar dated 1932 (year 21). But the reverse is not correct—the birds should be flying above the boat, not in the water, so I suspect not genuine. Can you provide a weight, diameter, and check if it's magnetic?

The weight is 27 grams .
I think this version is a rare one. I saw sth similar being sold at the auction in Japan. Sending an image that looks like my coin.

@kiki, first welcome to CCF. Second, many of these coins have been faked for a very long time. Any time there is a weight or style discrepancy, you should be even more pessimistic. The fact that a magnet isn't attracted to it is a start, but please perform a specific gravity test and let us know the results. You are going to need a more precise scale to start. I look forward to seeing the results when you post them here.

Well, by the looks of things there were six types of this coin with the bird flying below the boat. There are three 1 yuan and one 1/2 yuan, one 2 jiao and one 1 jiao.

They are all silver except two of the 1 yuan coins, one is brass and the other copper.

Yours would be the 1 yuan coin.

There's different writing on the boat side.

ben ji wei bi yi hao for 1 jiao (from right to left, I can't use Chinese characters on here, you can find them on the numista page)

ben ji wei bi er hao for 2 jiao

ben ji wei bi ban yuan for 1/2 yuan

ben ji wei yi yuan for 1 yuan

Yours is the latter one.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces240958.html

The wing on the left most bird seems too short. On the coins on numista the wing goes out to the point where the rigging starts, on this coin of yours it stops before that.

The "bi" character on yours looks wrong. The top part on the right on yours just looks like three lines, but it should look a little like #25909; but slightly different.

your "yuan" looks so wrong. Yours looks like how someone would write it if they wanted it to be clear. The coin on numista it looks more stylized.

The sun's rays on yours look like they touch the sun, on the coin I'm seeing there's a gap all the way around the sun.

I'm going to say it looks fake, and hasn't even been done that well. I think Chinese people would notice it's fake.

Glad to hear that you have a more precise scale @kiki. Can you please perform a specific gravity test so that we can determine if this piece is made from silver or simply a silver-colored alloy? Thx.
