I found this cent interesting. It is graded by NGC AU58BN. It has S-19 mpd/rpd, but this coin seems to have a rusted die reverse that is not mentioned in the Snow book. Would you guys agree that this cent has a rusted die reverse? Thanks for all opinions.

Those are amazingly good pics through that slab @hum. As to the surface, that looks more like damage to me, but I'm interested to see where we net out on this one.

Suggest you contact Rick Snow directly about this, I'm sure he will respond.

It does appear to have a raised bubble surface indicative of a rusted die to the left side, the larger areas appear to be incuse so not rust remnants as normally seen, though I suppose the rust could have affected the die in multiple areas differently, interesting. The die crack is mentioned in Rick's description, which is very visible on your coin.

Thank you all for your opinions and thumbs up on the photos. I'm going to contact Rick Snow as Coinfrog suggested and see what he thinks. I will be sure to post what info I can gather on here.

Since some of what we see on the reverse looks to be damage and some to be from a rusted die. Could this die have been taken off at some point and dropped/damaged, then stored away and rusted, then pulled back out and used again? Just a thought.
