IM looking for opinions on this 1966 Roosevelt dime.. The dime only weighs 1.6 grams. I can't seem to find anything on a foreign planchet weighing 1.6 /1.7 grams and when I do the light drop on my table I get the same ping that I get out of my silver Mercury dime. Until I get it tested, I'm going to assume it has silver. Any Ideas?

Just a corroded junk coin.

Notice the copper colored copper core. Silver coins do not have copper cores

considering the Dime weighs 1.6 g and not 2.26 g is the real issue,
not the silver content

Acid or an acidic environment has eaten away the copper more than the nickel.

It was in some type of acid environment whether buried in acidic soil or actually soaked in acid. Acid coins lose their weight as the acid eats away at the surfaces and edges.

looks like a saltwater metal detecting find. It can reduce the weight.
